INEOS Styrolution’s sustainable styrenics solutions at FAKUMA 2023

INEOS Styrolution, the global leader in styrenics, presents moulding solutions and customer applications made with the company’s sustainable ECO products at the FAKUMA show in Friedrichshafen, Germany (October 17-21, 2023).

  • Booth B4-4206: ALBIS presents customer applications based on a range of INEOS Styrolution’s ECO materials and the new Luran® S SPF 60 for high gloss and best-in-class UV protection
  • Booth A3-3101: Arburg demonstrates injection moulding with INEOS Styrolution’s Terluran GP-35 on their new hybrid injection moulding machine
  • Booth A1-1208: Barnes Molding Solutions presents moulding with INEOS Styrolution’s sustainable styrenics ECO polymers
  • Booth A5-5010: The Austrian Fill Gesellschaft m.b.H. showcases Novobead® ECO, a recently unveiled innovation developed by INEOS Styrolution and partners

INEOS Styrolution’s ECO products offer performance with a low environmental footprint. They are either the result of (mechanical or advanced) recycling or they are products based on bio-attributed feedstock. Their properties are at par with that of traditional materials.

At the FAKUMA show, INEOS Styrolution’s materials can be experienced at the following locations:

ALBIS, a global distributor of standard polymers, engineering plastics, and a growing number of sustainable product solutions, showcases customer solutions based on INEOS Styrolution’s ECO materials. Exhibits include solutions from various industries such as a B-pillar (automotive) or toolbox (household). Materials include Novodur® ECO HH-106 MR30, Terluran ECO GP-22 MR50 and Luran ECO 368R B70.

Also on display are samples of INEOS Styrolution’s new Luran® S SPF-60 solution. The ASA Luran® S SPF-60 offers high gloss and best-in-class UV performance making it a perfect solution for many outdoor applications requiring an aesthetic appearance.

Arburg, a leading global manufacturer of plastic processing machines, demonstrates the performance of their latest generation of injection moulding machines with INEOS Styrolution’s bio-attributed ABS[1] Terluran® ECO GP-35, typically being available in a “BC60” version, i.e. with 60% bio-attributed content. The same material will be processed by an injection moulding machine at the Maschinenfabrik Lauffer booth next to Arburg.

Barnes Molding Solutions, a strategic business unit within Barnes and a pioneer of new technologies in injection moulding, exhibits moulding solutions with INEOS Styrolution’s ABS Novodur® HD M203FC and Terlux® HD 2812, an MABS[2] thermoplastic.

Fill Gesellschaft m.b.H., an internationally operating company dedicated to special machinery and plant engineering, presents Novobead® ECO, a particle foam based on ABS at their booth. In fact, Fill was one of INEOS Styrolution’s experienced partners along the entire value chain contributing to the development of this new material.

Sumitomo (SHI) Demag, a specialist for industry-specific and all-electric injection moulding solutions, is a long-term partner for INEOS Styrolution. The company will demonstrate the performance of their injection moulding solutions with Styrolution® PS 495N. This particular grade excels with a very high flow, making it the material of choice for a broad range of applications in construction, household and toys, sports & leisure applications.

Sumitomo (SHI) Demag can be found at booth B1-1105.

Ultrapolymers, a leading polymer distributor and service provider, features INEOS Styrolution’s sustainable recycled or bio-based ECO materials offering a low environmental footprint. Customer applications include water filters and suitcases made with ECO styrenics.

Brand-new is INEOS Styrolution’s new Luran S MED 797S SPF30, an ASA[3] grade developed for healthcare applications, specifically for small medical device housings and casings.

In 2023, INEOS marks 25 years since its inception

On 5 May 1998, the first deal was signed to buy former BP site at Antwerp from INSPEC under the INEOS name, with 300 staff at a cost of £80m. Since this first deal, INEOS has completed hundreds of deals in petrochemicals, oil & gas, and energy growing to a $65bn revenue group with 36 businesses in 29 countries and 26,000 staff.
