TANOS, one of the global leaders offering innovative and comprehensive storage management and transportation solutions, has selected mechanically recycled ABS[1] from INEOS Styrolution for their new mobile system case “Systainer³ Eco M 187”. The Terluran® ECO GP-22 MR70 from INEOS Styrolution used in this application has a 47% lower CO2e footprint compared to conventional plastics.

TANOS[2] has a track record of going the extra mile for the environment. Starting with the construction of their company building using a variety of climate protection features, and continuing with the conventional systainer®, which is already made of pure ABS material and therefore, 99% recyclable. With the offer of the new Systainer³ Eco M 187, which is largely made from Terluran® ECO, TANOS has taken another step forward in reducing its customers' ecological footprint.

Terluran® ECO GP-22 MR70 is a mechanical post-consumer recycling (PCR) grade, with a PCR content of 70%. In addition to offering a significantly reduced CO2 footprint the product properties are on par with conventionally produced Terluran GP-22. The drop-in characteristic of the material ensures no further conversion investments in the moulding process.

Klaus-Martin Berstecher, Managing Director at TANOS, says: "The Systainer³ Eco continues the quality promise of the systainer® product family – in other words, it is already sustainable as it is extremely robust and durable. Now the even more environmentally friendly base material Terluran® ECO has been added. This means that it not only has the same good product properties as the tried and tested ABS but is also greener in the best sense of the word."

Desiree Virgil, Account Manager at INEOS Styrolution, says: “I am pleased to work with a customer who shares our own vision of advancing circular solutions that lower emissions and are better for the environment. I am sure their customers will be equally excited once they experience the quality of the new Systainer³ product. It is indeed the same quality as products based on conventional material.”
