Ensuring fair business practices

Ensuring fair business practices

We operate with a fundamental respect for the rights of the individual, our employees as well as business partners. We are firmly opposed to all forms of human rights violations or deficient labour conditions and expect this across our value chain.

Our approach

Ensuring fair business practices that encompass human rights, regulatory compliance and ethical behaviour are the foundations of our business success. We believe that high standards on business integrity and human rights are critical to deliver our strategy, create long-term value and maintain our licence to operate.

We are committed to complying with all relevant local, national, and international laws, as manifested in our own values and guiding principles. Our globally defined policies and standards to some extent even exceed the requirements of local laws, and we strive to live up to the highest standards of business practice regarding ethics, integrity, and transparency.

Our gift policy

With respect to our Code of Conduct and in particularly our gift policy, since 2015 INEOS Styrolution EMEA has been refraining from the common practice of sending gifts to customers and suppliers for Christmas and the year’s end. The money thus saved gets donated to charities in the neighborhood of our offices and production sites instead.

In 2022, INEOS Styrolution EMEA donated €5,000 to the “Frankfurter Tafel”. This organisation is financed 100% by donations, without any support from the city of Frankfurt am Main. It supports fellow citizens in need through its food distribution points and those in need in social institutions in Frankfurt.

In 2021, INEOS Styrolution EMEA donated €10,000, equally split between Zoe4Life, a small charity based in Canton de Vaud, Switzerland, helping children with cancer and their families as well as supporting cancer research and Leikozu, a charity supporting patients with blood oncological diseases. Unfortunately, in Russia today, it is quite difficult for a patient over 25 years to receive charitable assistance, and almost impossible for a patient above 50 years of age. The task of this charity is to change the attitude in society towards adult patients with such a difficult diagnosis as cancer.

In 2020, INEOS Styrolution EMEA donated €7,500 to the non-profit children's and youth welfare institution ProKids near our Schwarzheide production site in Germany. Within the framework of care and education, ProKids offers integrative and interdisciplinary help for children, young people and their family members when they find themselves in difficult life situations and their personal development is impaired or endangered. The contribution comes in handy in times of COVID, eLearning and home-schooling as the money will be used to purchase laptops for the kids and teenagers to digitally participate in the eLearning programmes.

In 2019, INEOS Styrolution EMEA donated €7500 to the non-profit association Apei de Lens et environs in Lens near our Wingles site in France. This organisation provides moral and material support to people with mental disabilities as well as families with mentally disabled children.

In 2018, INEOS Styrolution EMEA donated €7500 to the Kinderschutzbund Neustadt/ Bad Dürkheim. The main focus of this organisation is to support children who live in difficult social conditions by offering assistance and accompaniment through services such as a telephone helpline, prevention training and visits.

Köln – is an organisation that supports parents whose children are diagnosed with cancer, providing psychological assistance and on-site family apartments for the affected families.
